
Tyler Shepard earned both a Masters degree (2015) and a Bachelors degree (2011) in Music Education from Wright State University School of Music. Mr. Shepard has taught private guitar lessons and various music classes at the Piano Preparatory School in Beavercreek, OH, and at Cedarville University. Also proficient in classroom instruction, Shepard has taught general music for Huber Heights City Schools, at Wright State University, where he has instructed a Guitar Methods class, and is now the K-6 Music and High School Guitar Teacher for Berne Union Local Schools.
With eclectic musical tastes including classical, jazz, blues, folk, and Christian worship, Mr. Shepard has performed on WDPR, for the Dayton Art Institute's Summer Twilight series and in master classes for Michael Nicollela and Michael Bard.
Mr. Shepard's students remark about his fun, creative instructional strategies and how he maintains a patient, engaging demeanor. In both group and individual settings, Tyler utilizes his original guitar method, "The Music Educator's Practical Guide to Classroom Guitar" in addition to a variety of other guitar methods. Tyler thoroughly enjoys teaching students of all ages and he is passionate about helping students explore new aspects of music to accomplish their goals.
